KTA knocks Div Com’s door over battered Srinagar roads
Srinagar, May 1: Expressing exasperation over the dilapidated condition of roads across Srinagar, which they say is severely impacting businesses, a delegation from the Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) today met with Divisional Commissioner VK Bidhuri, urging swift action for repair and widening of city roads.
The KTA team, led by President Aijaz Shahdhar, held extensive discussions with the Divisional Commissioner on expediting developmental works, particularly macadamization and road widening projects in the city.
"We took up the issue of the dilapidated condition of roads, which is giving a tough time to commuters and affecting businesses badly.
Everywhere in the city, roads are in bad shape," the KTA said in a statement after the meeting.
Highlighting the urgency of the matter, the traders' body said " Div Com Bidhuri assured them that blacktopping work will commence by the end of May, and road widening initiatives would also be undertaken."
