Srinagar, Sep : A delegation of the Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) led by its President, Aijaz Shahdhar, today called on the newly appointed Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg.

The KTA delegation warmly welcomed Garg’s posting as Divisional Commissioner and assured full cooperation in all initiatives aimed at improving governance and public welfare. Speaking on the occasion, Aijaz Shahdhar said that the trade fraternity has high expectations from him, given his proven administrative acumen in earlier assignments.

During the meeting, Shahdhar raised several key issues affecting the business community and the general public.

He expressed concern over closure of the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway, which hampers trade and movement, and urged the administration to explore alternative measures to avoid disruptions. He also highlighted the grievances of fruit growers whose truckloads remain stranded during such closures, causing heavy losses.

The KTA President further stressed the need for announcing a power amnesty scheme for commercial consumers and emphasized the importance of introducing railway cargo services to streamline transportation and ensure smooth supply chains.

The Divisional Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that all the concerns raised would be addressed on priority.

The KTA delegation comprised Sabit Ali, Sajad Hyder, Tanveer Khan, Owais Yaqoob, Sajad Din, and Imtiyaz Bhat.
