KPDCL working on revised power curtailment schedule, says Div Com Kashmir
Srinagar, Dec 01: Amid unending unscheduled power cuts in valley in the ongoing winter season, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said on Sunday that dry water sources have affected power supply in Kashmir region and authorities at KPDCL are working upon revised power curtailment schedule to deal with the crisis.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir V K Bidhuri said that Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) is actively working on a revised curtailment schedule to ensure minimal disruptions. He said the power cuts will be fewer in the ongoing winter season than the previous year.
“A harsh winter is expected this year, and we are requesting consumers to cooperate with us, especially during transformer breakdowns, and crude instruments shouldn't be used,” he said.
He said the administration has improved power supply for this winter while extensive preparations in anticipation of La Niña conditions are in place.
He said they had already an idea that La Niña was coming and that preparations have been better since last year.
“We already had an idea that La Niña was coming, and our preparations have been good since last year,” Divisional Commissioner Kashmir said.
