KPDCL replaces over 4000 burnt smart meters

However, KPDCL didn't tell when, why, and how these newly installed smart meters were damaged.

Srinagar, Oct 7: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) Monday said that it has so far replaced 4,263 burnt smart meters.

KPDCL, which is responsible for providing electricity to people in Kashmir said, the replacement shall continue till "all burnt meters are replaces in a time-bound manner to facilitate consumers."

However, KPDCL didn't tell when, why, and how these newly installed smart meters were damaged.

On its official handle on X, the KPDCL has also warned consumers of tampering of sabotaging the electricity measuring device. People found involved in tampering will be taken action against, it warned.
