Kotranka- Khawas road restored for traffic movement after 2 weeks

Rajouri, Dec 4: The road connecting Kotranka sub division headquarter with Khawas tehsil and called as Kotranka- Khawas main road has been restored for traffic movement from Badhal bridge after a gap of two weeks.

This became possible as a link road was constructed amid closure of main bridge.

The existing bridge called as Badhal Bridge was closed for movement of vehicles after it suffered damage amid ongoing work for construction of a new bridge adjacent to it.

The existing bridge was closed for traffic as big cracks appeared in it. The locals of the area accused the concerned executive agency of doing improper work that caused damage to the existing bridge.

Meanwhile, after a gap of almost two weeks, the department has constructed a link road adjacent to the site to facilitate movement of vehicles and to restore the road.

"People from the area held multiple protest over the issue demanding restoration of the road after which the work for construction of a temporary stretch was taken up which has now been completed," said locals

They said that while vehicles are moving over this temporary track now but condition of this track is quite bad making it difficult for vehicles to move over it easily.

"We call for making this temporary track better so as to ensure easy movement of vehicles over it," they said.

The officials of department on the other hand said that temporary track has been built to restore the closed road from Badhal bridge while work for construction of a new bridge is going on at full page.
