Kishtwar-Sinthan Top- Anantnag NH-244 partially restored for locals, LMVs
Ramban,Jan 15: Kishtwar- Sinthan Top - Anantnag NH-244 was partially restored after concerned agency NHIDCL cleared accumulated snow from the road and made it traffic-worthy on Wednesday.
However, as per the Traffic Department, Kishtwar - Sinthan Top- Anantnag National Highway 244 was not fully operational due to accumulation of snow. The local vehicles and light motor vehicles (LMVs) on this vital road, were permitted to move with cut-off timing 11am to 2pm, fixed by the district administration Anantnag and Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Additional General Secretary Sheikh Nasir said the traffic has been restored on the Sinthan road. He demanded that in a similar manner, snow should also be cleared from Margan Top to restore traffic on the only road leading to Marwah and Warwan. This will enable the people of this vast and far-flung area to access the region during the winter season, as the helicopter service is insufficient for thousands of people, he added.
