Kishtwar-Anantnag highway closed

Ramban, Jan 3: The Kishtwar-Anantnag National Highway (NH-244) via Sinthan Top remained blocked for the sixth consecutive day due to the accumulation of snow on both sides of the Sinthan Top, the pass between Kishtwar and Anantnag districts, officials said Friday.

They said that the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) had started the road restoration work which was still in progress.

Officials said that the accumulated snow was cleared at several places leading to Sinthan Top and other locations.

The Kishtwar-Sinthan National Highway was closed on December 27 due to the accumulation of snow on both sides of the Sinthan Top.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department issued a weather advisory predicting fresh snowfall in the higher reaches and rain in other low-altitude areas for a couple of days.
