Khyber Cement partners with Institution of Engineers to train Kashmir’s construction professionals
Srinagar, Dec 9: Khyber Cement collaborated with The Institution of Engineers (India) for Zabaan-o-Bunyad: Empowering Non-Engineer Builders through Urdu-Medium Technical Training, a two-day workshop held on 5th and 6th December at the IEI Auditorium, Church Lane, Sonwar Bagh, Srinagar. Led by The Institution of Engineers (India), the initiative focused on structured learning for the grassroots construction professionals, enabling them to enhance their technical understanding and contribute more effectively to Kashmir’s development.
The inaugural session featured a distinguished Expert Resource Panel comprising leading academicians, technical experts, and senior engineers from NIT Srinagar, JKPPD, GCET, and SSM College of Engineering, setting a strong technical direction for the workshop. The workshop was attended by, Fazlul Haseeb, ICommissioner SMC / CEO SSCL, underscoring the administration’s support for technical learning in the region, said a press release.
Speaking on the successful completion of the programme, Riaz Tramboo, Director of Operations, Khyber Cement, said: “Providing structured technical training to non-engineers is vital because the knowledge they gain directly reflects in the structures built across Kashmir.
