Khursheed Aalam chairs key meeting of PDP's central Kashmir leaders
Srinagar, Dec 30: Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and party General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Aalam on Tuesday chaired a meeting of party's Central Kashmir leaders to review its functioning in the region and deliberate on future political and organisational strategies, with a particular focus on the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) elections.
The meeting was addressed by PDP spokespersons Mohammad Iqbal Tramboo and Zuhaib Mir, Syed Tajamul, former MLA Noor Mohammad Sheikh, district presidents Mohd Yaseen Bhat, Abdul Qayoom Bhat, Zahoor Ahmad Rather, Bashir Mir, Dr Ali Mohammad, and other senior party leaders.
During the meeting, Aalam assessed the party’s organisational strength at the block, municipal and ward levels, and emphasised the need to further strengthen grassroots units to ensure effective public outreach, said a press release.
He stressed sustained engagement with the people to better understand their civic concerns and aspirations, especially in urban and semi-urban areas. Detailed discussions were held on election preparedness, coordination among party cadres, identification of prospective candidates, voter mobilisation strategies, and addressing key local governance issues. Aalam called for unity, discipline and collective responsibility, urging party leaders and workers to work with dedication to rebuild public trust and reinforce the party’s presence on the ground.
