Srinagar, Aug 22: The Khelo India Water Sports Festival 2025 entered its second day with fierce competition on the iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar, as athletes from across the country showcased their skill, strength, and determination.

After two action-packed days, Madhya Pradesh emerged as the frontrunner with an impressive haul of four gold medals, one silver, and two bronze, taking their tally to seven medals. Odisha secured the second spot with one gold and three silvers, while the hosts, Jammu & Kashmir, are placed third with one gold, one silver, and one bronze.

Uttar Pradesh followed closely with one gold and one bronze, taking their tally to two medals. Kerala and Uttarakhand share the fifth and sixth positions, with Kerala earning three medals (two bronze and one silver) and Uttarakhand managing one silver and one bronze.

The three-day festival, which runs from August 21 to 23, is being held under the Khelo India initiative to promote water sports and provide a platform for young athletes to compete at the national level.

With just one day to go, the competition is expected to intensify as states vie for top honours in the final stretch of the championship.
