Khelo India trainees receive new sports kits in Jammu

Srinagar, Mar 15: The kit distribution function was held today at MA Stadium Jammu, where the trainees of District Jammu Khelo India Centers of Soft Tennis, Table Tennis, and Hockey Centers received their new sports kits.

A statement by JKSC said that after proper verification of their individual NSRS/KID IDs, the distribution process was carried out under the supervision of the Chief Sports Officer JKSC, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu JKSC, High-Performance Coach COE, Chief Coach Judo & Football JKSC, and Nodal Officer KI JKSC.

The trainees at these centres received around 100 brand-new sports kits, which included a tracksuit, shirt, shorts, stockings, shoes, and a kit bag. Similar kits will be distributed to the other districts as well, each having five Khelo India Centers, making a total of 100 Khelo India Centers in Jammu and Kashmir, the highest number in the entire country.

The J&K Sports Council is operating all 100 KICs and the 02 Centers of Excellence in Water Sports and Fencing, wherein around 120 past champion Athletes have been provided jobs as mentors over the last few years.

The distribution of these new sports kits is a significant step towards promoting and encouraging sports activities among the youth in the region, providing them with the necessary equipment and resources to excel in their respective disciplines.
