Srinagar, Nov 1: After demolishing Rajasthan by an innings and 41 runs in their previous Ranji Trophy encounter at SK Stadium in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir carried that momentum into their third match of the 2025–26 season against Chhattisgarh, finishing Day 1 on a solid 195 for 4 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur, on Saturday.

It was opener Shubham Khajuria who stood tall amidst early setbacks, crafting a patient and composed 78 off 206 balls, with 12 fours and a six. The J&K opener showed admirable courage on a sluggish surface where stroke-making was never easy, guiding his side from early trouble to a position of control.

J&K suffered a disastrous start, losing Qamran Iqbal (0) and Yawar Hassan (0) within the first four balls of the innings, both dismissed by Ravi Kiran. From 0/2, Khajuria and captain PK Dogra stitched a crucial 120-run partnership.
