New Delhi, Dec 2:  The eagerly awaited winter session of Parliament is slated to commence on December 4 and will extend its deliberations until December 22. Leaders of various political parties convened on Saturday in New Delhi to chart out the agenda for the upcoming session,

The session begins just a day after the outcomes of five crucial state assembly elections set to be revealed on December 3 which may attract or influence much discussions.

Chaired by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, the meeting witnessed the participation of leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Gaurav Gogoi, and Pramod Tiwari, Trinamool leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, NCP leader Fouzia Khan, and RSP leader NK Premachandran, among others, according to news agency PTI.

The winter session, with 15 sittings scheduled until December 22, is poised to deliberate on several crucial draft legislations. Among the key bills on the legislative agenda are:

  3. The Repealing and Amending Bill, 2023, as passed by Lok Sabha.
  4. The Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2023, as passed by Rajya Sabha.
  5. The Press and Registration of Periodicals Bill, 2023, as passed by Rajya Sabha.
  6. The Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Castes Order (Amendment) Bill, 2023.
  7. The Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Tribes Order (Amendment) Bill, 2023.
  8. The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
  9. The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
  10. The Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.
  11. The Post Office Bill, 2023.
