KCCI appeals admin to close down schools in view of unprecedented heat wave
Srinagar, July 25: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) has appealed the administration to close down schools in the valley in view of the unprecedented and unbearable heat wave prevailing in Kashmir division.
KCCI in a statement said the valley has consistently been recording historically high temperature causing tremendous problems for school going children.
It said the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry has taken up the matter with the administration and appealed to them to consider the concerns of the parents of large number of children for closure of schools till the cycle of present heat wave and adverse weather conditions show signs of improvement.
It also said the parents have been complaining that the health of their children is being affected, more so, in view of power outages in schools, resulting in non-cooperation of coolers and fans.
The chamber in its interaction with high officials of the administration have been assured that the matter of closure is under consideration and a decision in the matter will be taken soon, the statement said.
