Katra bandh suspended
Rajouri, Dec 31: Katra bandh which was going on for last one week has been suspended by Shri Mata Vaishnoo Devi Sangarsh Samiti.
The strike was suspended after a late evening meeting between Samiti and Jammu’s divisional administration.
The officers of divisional administration Jammu and representatives of Sangarsh Samiti also held a joint press conference after the meeting. It was informed that Katra agitation and week long bandh has been suspended and market is being re-opened while the jailed leaders are being released unconditionally.
"We held a meeting with the representatives of Sangarsh Samiti and all the issues were discussed," Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar said. He added, " We are releasing the detained leaders instantly."
The Divisional Commissioner further said that the traders are opening their market from this time only while work on new ropeway project will remain suspended till meetings of Sangarsh Samiti and a committee framed by Lieutenant Governor discusses things and reaches to any conclusion.
"We had a meeting with divisional administration and all things were discussed in which our jailed leaders are being released while market will be opened instantly," Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishnoo Devi Sangarsh Samiti said.
