Jammu, Sep 3: The government has granted three-day special casual leave in favour of Kashmiri migrant employees posted in Kashmir valley, during three phases of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls, to enable them to vote at special polling stations.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the grant of three days’ special casual leave in favour of Kashmiri migrant employees posted in Kashmir valley, who are eligible to vote at special polling stations to be set up at Jammu, Udhampur, Delhi during three phases of elections to be held in the Assembly constituencies in the districts of Kashmir province, on the specified dates,” read an order issued by General Administration Department (GAD) Commissioner Secretary, while referring to a communiqué from J&K Chief Electoral Officer No CEO-ELECOCOE/79/2024/517-25 dated August 21, 2024.

As per the order, Kashmiri migrant employees, eligible voters of Assembly constituencies of Pampore, Tral, Pulwama and Rajpora of Pulwama district; Zainapora and Shopian of Shopian district; D H Pora,

Kulgam and Devsar of Kulgam district and Dooru, Kokernag (ST), Anantnag West, Anantnag, Srigufwara-Bijbehara, Shangus-Anantnag East and Pahalgam of Anantnag district, going to polls in the first phase on September 18, 2024 will have special three-day casual leave from September 17 to 19, 2024.

Kashmiri migrant employees, eligible voters of assembly constituencies of Kangan (ST) and Ganderbal of Ganderbal district; Hazratbal, Khanyar, Habba Kadal, Lal Chowk, Channapora, Zadibal, Eidgah and Central Shalteng of Srinagar district and Budgam, Beerwah, Khansahib, Chrar-i-Sharief and Chadoora of Budgam district, going to polls in the second phase on September 25, 2024 will have special three-day casual leave from September 24 to 26, 2024.

Similarly, Kashmiri migrant employees, who are eligible voters of Assembly constituencies of Karnah, Trehgam, Kupwara, Lolab, Handwara and Langate of Kupwara district; Sopore, Rafiabad, Uri, Baramulla, Gulmarg, Wagoora-Kreeri and Pattan of Baramulla district and Sonawari, Bandipora, Gurez (ST) of Babdipora district, going to polls in the third phase on October 1, 2024, will have special three-day casual leave from September 30 to October 2, 2024.
