Kashmir train service likely to be inaugurated on January 26: MP Mian Altaf
Srinagar, Jan 08: Senior National Conference leader and Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad expressed optimism on Wednesday about the much-awaited rail connectivity to Kashmir being inaugurated on January 26.
Speaking to news gathering agency KINS over the phone, Altaf said, “I believe the rail project will be thrown open on January 26. It will be a significant development for Jammu and Kashmir.”
The railway project, once operational, is expected to enhance connectivity and provide a major boost to the region's economy by easing transportation for both residents and tourists.
Mian Altaf also highlighted the completion of the Z-Morh tunnel, which will ensure year-round access to Sonamarg, a popular tourist destination in the region. “The Z-Morh tunnel has been completed and must be thrown open at the earliest. It will greatly benefit the region by keeping Sonamarg accessible even during the harsh winter months,” he added. (KINS)
