Kashmir schools to reopen after winter break on March 7: Minister
Srinagar, Feb 28: Winter vacations in Kashmir have been extended for all schools in the wake of inclement weather, officials said today.
Education Minister Sakina Itoo told Greater Kashmir that the vacations have been extended till March 6 for all schools. “The schools will reopen after winter break on March 7,” she said.
On Thursday, The Jammu and Kashmir government held a crucial meeting to decide on the possible extension of winter vacation following fresh snowfall across the Valley.
Schools in Kashmir were scheduled to reopen on March 1, 2025.
Speaking to Greater Kashmir, Education Minister Sakina Itoo stated that authorities would assess the situation, evaluate weather forecasts, and take feedback from Deputy Commissioners before making a final decision.
