Srinagar, Jan 10: Kashmir's business community has expressed disappointment over the newly announced train travel protocols, which reveal that there will be no direct train service between Srinagar and New Delhi.

With the introduction of train services, passengers travelling to and from Srinagar will now be required to make a mandatory stop at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Railway Station in Katra, Jammu, for transhipment.

This change, implemented due to security concerns, has raised alarms among local entrepreneurs, who fear that the added complexity and inconvenience will deter tourists and disrupt economic activity in the region. As the business community grapples with this setback, there is a collective call for solutions to ensure that improved connectivity translates into viable opportunities for growth.
