Kashmir highway closed for 2nd day; road sinks outside Peerah tunnel

Banihal, March 01: Jammu- Srinagar National Highway remains closed for the second consecutive day on Saturday due to landslides at shooting stones at several places in Ramban-Banihal sector, officials said.

The highway was blocked on Thursday evening at multiple locations in Ramban district after rains triggered landslides at several places in the Ramban area.

Meanwhile, a portion of the road outside a tube of Peerah tunnel has sunk and the road is damaged completely. 

Authorities have halted traffic through this tunnel tube, said an official.
