Kashmir Chess Championship to begin from 1st week of June

Srinagar May 29: The All J&K Chess Association is scheduled to organise the 'Kashmir Province Chess Championship 2024-25' for young talents from 1st week of June at the Srinagar Sports Club, Wazir Bagh.

A spokesperson in a statement said the championship aims to discover the top two players from U-7, U-9, U-11, U-13, and U-17 and the top four from U-15 & U-19 (boys and girls) are to represent the Kashmir division in the UT Level Chess Championship 2024-25, scheduled for the second week of June in Srinagar or Jammu for national selections.

“We cordially invite all aspiring players from the Kashmir division to partake in this exciting opportunity. Interested participants are requested to register themselves by or before May 30 by 5:00 p.m. Following this deadline, tournament dates and game schedules will be circulated. Please note that separate selections will be conducted for each category on separate dates, ensuring fair play and opportunities for all. On-spot entries will not be entertained.
