Srinagar, Sep 3: Kashmir Chamber of Horticulture has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating road condition at Parimpora mandi, describing it as a major hurdle for both transporters and traders.

In a statement, the Chamber said the dilapidated roads not only disrupt vehicular movement but also pose challenges to the free movement of people in and out of the mandi. “This mandi functions as the main hub for the sale and distribution of agri-horticulture produce and plays a crucial role in marketing the Valley’s local produce. The present condition of the roads is unacceptable and needs urgent attention,” he noted.

Highlighting additional concerns, the President of Kashmir Chamber of Horticulture, Hakim Khalid Ahmed pointed out that the recent flood-like situation has caused significant damage to orchards in Pulwama and Shopian districts. He appealed to the government, particularly the horticulture department, to assess the losses on priority and provide adequate compensation to the affected growers.
