Karra, GA Mir welcome political figures from Chenab valley into Congress
Srinagar, Oct 30: Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra alongwith CLP Leader and AICC General Secretary Ghulam Ahmad Mir and other Senior Leaders and Legislators welcomed hundreds of prominent political figures into Congress.
Former Minister G M Saroori led hundreds of prominent political figures from Chenab Valley to join Congress at Srinagar Party office under the leadership of JKPCC President. They expressed full faith under the pro-people policies and progrmmes of Congress, assuring the leadership they will work tirelessly to further strengthen Congress in their respective areas, said a press release.
In an function held at Srinagar Congress office, Karra alongwith GA Mir and other senior leaders welcomed hundreds of prominent figures from DPAP, BJP, NC and PDP into Congress, terming this significant development an outcome of tireless struggle and uncompromising fight of Central leadership and JKPCC to safeguard rights of people of J&K.
Karra said that prominent faces from different Parties are coming to join Congress given the Party’s pro people policies, vigorous fight for restoration of dignity, honour and statehood to J&K, which have been taken away by a stroke of pen by the BJP Govt at Centre. People have been pushed towards darkness, they realize as to what BJP has done to the erstwhile princely State of J&K, which was once considered a country, with a unique identity. JKPCC President highlighted the pivotal role of Chenab Valley in J&K Politics, urging the new entrants to gear up for upcoming challenges including ULB and Panchayat elections. Your hard work and dedication have the potential to infuse confidence among the people and give new direction to politics in Chenab valley, Karra told them.
Mir while welcoming the new entrants into Congress expressed pleasure over their joining and congratulated them for coming to Srinagar from Chenab valley to join the Party while appreciating their dedication and commitment.
