Karnah Festival 2025 celebrated with cultural vibrancy
Kupwara, Oct 2: The border village of Amrohi in Karnah subdivision came alive on Thursday with the celebration of Karnah Festival 2025, organised by the District Administration Kupwara in collaboration with the Indian Army. The day-long festival brought together locals, officials, and security forces in a vibrant celebration of culture, community service, and collective progress.
A key highlight of the festival was the Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camp under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, where scores of people availed on-the-spot benefits of various government schemes. The programme also marked 78 years of civil-army partnership in Karnah, reflecting the enduring bond between the locals and the armed forces.
Cultural performances and tribal showcases added colour and energy to the event, celebrating the rich heritage of the region. Alongside the festivities, several community-oriented initiatives were undertaken, including a plantation drive for ecological sustainability, a drug de-addiction campaign aimed at raising awareness among youth, and a pledge for a plastic-free festival to promote clean and green celebrations.
Officials noted that the festival not only highlighted the cultural identity of Karnah but also served as a platform to deliver government services directly to residents, further strengthening the link between administration and community.
