Kargil district hospital | CT scan machine to be available in December:  Administration

Kargil, Nov 3: The administration of UT Ladakh on Friday stated that the CT scan machine in district hospital Kargil will be available by the first week of December.

Greater Kashmir in its Friday edition had carried a story regarding the non availability of any CT scan and MRI Machine at district hospital Kargil causing hardships to the people particularly patients who are in need of emergency services. The health department Ladakh on Friday issued a statement, stating the overall process and developments that took place since the CT scan machine at district hospital Kargil went out of order.

It said the CT scan machine will be  available in the hospital in the first week of December."  Though the normal time taken for such high machine from the placement of supply order and delivery/ Installation is 4-6 months all over the world, the supplier assured that the machine will be delivered in the shortest possible time i.e. by First week of December 2023, adding that The civil works at the site like tiling, Fall ceiling etc have been completed. Electric works, Air conditioning etc are going on," the statement added.
