According to the locals, the villages Yarmuqum Dursuma, Vudder, Checkpora, Manigam, Arhama, and Anderwan are receiving electricity from receiving station Chenar, Kangan.

They said that these villages were placed on the Haripora feeder even though there is another receiving station functioning in the Manigam area near these villages.

Locals said that the same receiving station Chenar feeds the supply to several areas having a large population and is the main reason for overheating of the receiving station which results in frequent power cuts of 6 to 7 hours of above normal load shedding schedule.

The residents urged the higher authorities to feed these areas from Manigam receiving station instead of Chenar.

“There are some technicalities we have to see before this. We will take up the procedure and redress the grievances soon,” Ali said.

He said that as a short-term measure, they had announced a shutdown for the same station and would do some maintenance work so that the consumers of these villages get some relief from extra power cuts.
