KAN hosts multiple mentorship sessions to empower startups

Srinagar, Oct 25: In its ongoing mission to foster entrepreneurship in the region, Kashmir Angel Network (KAN) welcomed Prof Sunil Handa, a seasoned entrepreneur and educator, for another round of mentorship sessions in Srinagar.

This marked Prof Handa’s Fifth visit, reaffirming his commitment to guiding Kashmir-based startups and aspiring entrepreneurs. His sessions, known for their depth and personalised approach, have become invaluable to the region’s budding entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The one-on-one mentorship sessions were held on October 22 and 25 , 2024, at KAN’s corporate office in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar. Prof. Handa, founder of the Eklavya Education Foundation and a distinguished visiting faculty member at premier institutions across India, including several IIMs and IITs offered personalized consultations to over 30 startup Companies such as Nutkash, Wazwan Stories, Kashmir Car Wash, The Travellore, Hidden Naqsha, Techbox, MyCampus247, Raw Nectary, Emaar Foods, and Bizbuoy Consulting Pvt. Ltd. were among the participants. These sessions provided entrepreneurs with actionable insights on key aspects such as scaling strategies, overcoming operational challenges, and refining business models.

“Talking to Prof. Handa reignited our belief in our mission,” shared Khushboo Rizwaan, an enthusiastic participant. His mentorship brought clarity to our challenges,” remarked another participant. “The advice was not only motivating but also practical, giving us concrete steps to elevate our startup journey.

In addition to personalized sessions, a general workshop was held on October 24, at the Institution of Engineers, Sonwar, Srinagar. This interactive session brought together students from leading institutions such as Kashmir University Zakura Campus, Central University of Kashmir, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), and SSM College. The discussion covered the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, the importance of innovation, and overcoming challenges in startup journeys. Several early-stage startups also participated, benefiting from the broader conversation.

The engaging and dynamic learning environment fostered by Prof. Handa allowed participants to raise questions, exchange ideas, and gain practical knowledge. KAN’s collaboration with Prof. Handa reflects a long-standing commitment to providing sustained mentorship and guidance to the region’s entrepreneurs.

KAN looks forward to continuing its mission of building a vibrant startup ecosystem in Kashmir by organising more such impactful sessions with leading mentors and experts.
