Srinagar, Aug 8: Naseema Akhter, wife of Mir Ghulam Qadir and sister of Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, Editor The Mirror Of Kashmir, Dr Farooq Ahmad Kaloo, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Editor Greater Kashmir, and mother of Mir Aijaz Ahmad, Editor Kashmir Canvas, passed away on Friday.

She breathed her last at 7:45 pm after a prolonged illness at SKIMS Soura.

Her Namazi-Jinazah shall be offered at 11 am on August 9 at Jamia Masjid Hyderpora.

Meanwhile, staffers of Greater Kashmir and its sister concern Kashmir Uzma held a condolence meeting and extended condolences to the bereaved families. They prayed for the highest place in Jannat for the deceased.

Meanwhile, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Civil Society Forum and president Pensioners United front Ab Qayoom Wani, expressed grief and sorrow on the demise of the sister of Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, and Farooq Ahmad Kaloo, and the mother of Editor Kashmir Canvas Mir Aijaz Ahmad. “The deceased was a pious woman with great qualities of head and heart,” Wani said, praying for Janatul Firdous to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family members, especially Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, Farooq Ahmad Kaloo, and Mir Aijaz to bear this loss. All the leaders of JKCSF and JKPUF expressed sympathy and solidarity with the Kaloo family at this difficult time and prayed for Janatul Firdous for the departed soul.

Adv Sajid Yousuf Shah, BJP State Media Co-Incharge J&K also condoled the demise.

"It is with deep sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Naseema Akhter, the beloved sister of renowned journalists Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, and Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, beside Dr Farooq Ahmad Kaloo and the mother of Mir Aijaz Ahmad," Shah said in a statement.

"Naseema Akhter's passing is not just a loss for her family, but for the larger journalistic fraternity as well. My thoughts and prayers are with the grieving family during this difficult time. May Almighty Allah grant her eternal peace and elevate her in Jannah, and may her family be granted the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss," he added.
