Kabra-led panel to monitor progress of social sector schemes, projects
Jammu, Apr 5: An 11-member committee led by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Jal Shakti Department Shaleen Kabra will monitor the progress of various social sector schemes or projects under implementation in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
As per its terms of reference, the panel will regularly monitor the progress of specified schemes and projects for achieving the stated and laid down targets and for effective implementation in J&K.
These specified schemes will include major health infrastructure projects; implementation of PM Shri Programme; establishment of Vidya Samiksha Kendra; installation of Ferris wheel in Dal lake; development of site near Shalimar channel adjacent to Foreshore road; Tawi River Front and Smart City Mission; monetization of land for development of Housing Colonies or real estate projects and convergence in MGNREGA.
The committee has been tasked to identify the bottlenecks in the implementation of these schemes or projects and suggest measures for timely resolution. It will advise the departments or executing agencies on procurement and contract related issues like preparation of standard bidding document, RFP, engagement of Transaction Advisor, drawing up of contracts etc.
The committee has been asked to submit a monthly progress report to the office of Chief Secretary, J&K.
