'Justice will be served’: Salman Sagar makes solidarity visit to family of Nishat murder victim
Reasi, May 05: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leader and MLA from Hazratbal constituency, Salman Ali Sagar, today visited the grieving family of Anwar Begum in Reasi, Jammu, who was sexually assaulted and murdered in Srinagar's Nishat area.
Sagar extended his condolences and expressed deep sympathy to the family members who are still reeling from the shocking loss. The JKNC leader assured the victim's family that he would personally monitor the progress of the investigation and push for expeditious justice in the case.
"Such heinous crimes have no place in our society. The perpetrators must be brought to justice swiftly. I have assured the family that I will stand with them throughout this difficult process and ensure that justice is delivered without delay," Salman Sagar said.
Mohammad Rafiq Khatana, the husband of the deceased, and their son Rafaqat, expressed their gratitude for the leader's visit while emphasising their demand for swift justice. They reportedly appealed to Sagar to use his political influence to ensure that the investigation proceeds efficiently and transparently.
The case has sent shockwaves through Kashmir, with local residents expressing concerns about safety and security, particularly for women. Law enforcement officials have stated that the investigation is ongoing, with several leads being pursued.
