Justice Wani inspects court complex in Drass
Srinagar, Aug 27: Administrative Judge for District Kargil Justice Muhammad Yousuf Wani inspected the new court complex at Drass and urged for speedy disposal of old cases.
As per a statement issued on Wednesday, Justice Wani was received by Spalzes Angmo, Principal District & Sessions Judge Kargil, Chemit Yurgyal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kargil, Sadiq Ali Wazir Munsiff Drass, and engineers from the PWD.
On the inspection of the new court complex, Justice Wani suggested having more courtrooms instead of just one at present, especially considering the fact that the Drass subdivision has been proposed for a district.
“Justice Wani was indeed very happy to know that Munsiff Courts of such magnitude are being constructed even at the Subdivisions of Sankoo and Zanskar as well.”
Later on, Justice Wani visited the present court building at Drass and inspected the civil and criminal files. Justice Wani issued directions to the judicial officers present on the occasion to make every endeavour in disposing of the old civil and criminal files, considering the low pendency in the courts at Kargil.
He also visited the Kargil War Memorial at Drass and paid homage to the martyrs of the Kargil War by showering flower petals at Amar Jawan Jyoti. Justice Wani also interacted with the army personnel and thanked them for performing duty in these harsh high-altitude and climatic conditions and wished them the best for their future, the statement added.
