Jammu, Oct 30: Professor Yashpal Sharma of the Department of Botany, University of Jammu, demonstrated an exemplary spirit of resilience and discipline by winning two medals in the 6th Masters Jammu District Athletics Championship held at MA Stadium, Jammu, on Thursday.

He won a gold medal in 200 m with a timing of 35.62 seconds and a bronze medal in 100 m with a timing of 16.12 seconds in the 55+ years age category.

Tarsem Lal Basotra, general secretary of the J&K Master Athletics Association, stated that it was overwhelming to watch Professor Sharma showcasing his hard work, individual spirit and dedication on the ground.

Basotra, along with Gurcharan Singh, senior athletics coach of the J&K Sports Council, congratulated Prof. Yashpal Sharma on his exemplary performance and applauded his spirit of true sportsmanship and fervour.
