JMF hail CM’s statement on statehood

Jammu, Dec 6: Jammu Muslim Front (JMF) has hailed the statement of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah regarding importance of restoration of statehood.

In a statement JMF said, “We appeal to the Central Government to honour its assurances and respect the mandate of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is time to reinstate our statehood and work towards a brighter future for all.”

It added that the union government must guarantee job security and land rights protection to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Furthermore, it is imperative that a popular government be allowed to function with authority, ensuring accountability and transparency. The current government's track record over the past few years has been disappointing, to say the least, with inadequate attention paid to job creation, healthcare, and relief for transporters, hoteliers, traders, and farmers, shikara and house boat dwellers,” the statement said.
