Ganderbal, Apr 25:  Days after announcing that they will field its candidate for Srinagar parliamentary seat, President Jammu and Kashmir United Movement (JKUM) and former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar on Thursday said that they have decided not to field its candidate for the upcoming Parliament elections from Srinagar parliamentary seat.

Addressing media persons here, Ishfaq Jabbar said that they have gone with the opinion to focus on the assembly elections and not to field its candidate for Srinagar parliamentary seat spread over Ganderbal, Budgam, Pulwama and Shopian.

"We have our workers and party cadre in all these segments, however it will cause fragmentation of votes which we don't want, adding that the doors of JKUM are open for everyone and we will support to those who will represent the aspirations of people and be their voice in the Parliament," Ishfaq said.

He said that the decision to whom to offer their support will be taken by the party in next couple of days.
