JKUM, ANC to jointly campaign for assembly elections

Ganderbal, Sep 01: Jammu Kashmir United Movement (JKUM) and Awami National Conference (ANC) on Sunday announced that both the parties will conduct joint election campaigning for upcoming assembly elections.

JKUM and ANC held a workers rally, which started from Nagbal upto Lar led by ANC senior leader Muzaffar Ahmed Shah and JKUM president Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar.

While addressing the workers, the JKUM president Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar urged people to reject the twin political families to put an end to their decades-long exploitation. Ishfaq said that he aims to bring peace into the lives of the people, especially the youth. He also spoke about open merit candidates, free units of electricity, release of youths, job opportunities for youth and other issues.

He said, “The time has come when you need to use your vote wisely and put an end to the exploitation by twin political families, Abdullahs and Muftis. These families have been deceiving you for years and decades.” Ishfaq said. He said that he will seek votes from people on the basis of his work done in last ten years.

Ishfaq is likely to contest from Ganderbal seat. He had won his last assembly elections from Ganderbal on NC ticket , however later parted ways from the National Conference party and floated his own political party JKUM.
