J&KSA's Nasir Khuehami meets ace political strategist Prashant Kishor
Srinagar, Dec 09: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (J&KSA) National Convenor, Nasir Khuehami, on Tuesday met India’s ace political strategist and Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor at his residence and held an in-depth discussion on a wide range of issues concerning students, youth leaders, and young professionals from Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, Khuehami apprised Kishor of the persistent challenges faced by J&K students across the country, including limited institutional mentoring and a lack of exposure to modern policy ecosystems, political consulting, and professional communication frameworks. He noted that many Kashmiri students and youth leaders, despite strong academic potential and grassroots experience, face a significant information and opportunity gap in areas such as public policy, governance processes, electoral strategy, media engagement, and participation in national decision-making. The discussion also covered youth-focused programmes, minority issues, leadership development, and the need to better integrate Kashmiri students and young leaders into mainstream policy and governance platforms.
Assuring his support, Prashant Kishor expressed his willingness to guide and mentor students and youth leaders from the Valley, particularly those interested in public policy, political communication, campaign strategy, governance reforms, management, data analytics, voter behaviour research, grassroots mobilisation, and narrative building. He emphasised that structured mentorship combined with practical exposure can empower young people to emerge as effective change-makers and responsible leaders.
Kishor lauded the efforts of Nasir Khuehami and the JK Students Association for running a robust pan-India student welfare network, especially during periods of uncertainty and crisis. He appreciated JKSA’s proactive role in student advocacy, emergency assistance, youth engagement, and leadership-oriented initiatives across various states and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, describing such grassroots-driven efforts as essential for democratic inclusion.
Widely regarded as one of India’s most influential political minds, Prashant Kishor has led multiple high-impact election campaigns and pioneered professional political consulting in the country. He has worked closely with the Prime Minister of India, several Chief Ministers, Members of Parliament, and major national and regional political parties, contributing significantly to reshaping political strategy and governance practices.
Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor will attend a Youth Interaction Programme proposed to be held in Srinagar on February 2, 2026, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association. The programme aims to address the existing gap in understanding and exposure among Kashmiri students and youth leaders in areas such as policy formulation, political consultancy, communication strategy, and institutional functioning.
During the programme, Kishor is expected to engage in direct, one-on-one interactions with students and youth leaders, sharing insights on career pathways, skill development, ethical leadership, election management, governance diagnostics, survey-based research, campaign war-room operations, messaging strategies, and outcome-oriented policy execution.
The interaction is expected to offer valuable national-level exposure to Jammu and Kashmir youth, strengthen their confidence, and encourage informed participation in democratic processes. It will also focus on and highlight how Kashmiri students and youth leaders can contribute meaningfully to decision-making and national political discourse, enabling them to engage responsibly in nation-building, governance, and constructive public leadership.
