J&K’s Rutba Shabir, Arham shine at 69th National School Games Wushu
Srinagar Oct 29: Jammu and Kashmir’s young Wushu players, Rutba Shabir and Arham, delivered standout performances at the ongoing 69th National School Games U-17 category here on Wednesday.
As per a statement issued by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, the event witnessed another action-packed day at the Indoor Sports Complex here, where young athletes from across the country continued to display outstanding skill, energy, and sportsmanship.
The event has been a celebration of discipline and determination, as participants from various states battled it out for top honours in different weight categories. Among the notable performers, Jammu & Kashmir’s Rutba Shabir and Arham impressed everyone with their commanding victories and spirited performances.
In the girls’ section, under the 45 kg weight category, Gayatri Pooniya from Rajasthan defeated Taba Sarah from Arunachal Pradesh, while Aarya from Chandigarh overcame Holika from Jharkhand, and Anushka from Maharashtra emerged victorious against Solanki from Gujarat. In the 48 kg category, Dimpal from Delhi triumphed over Barsha from West Bengal, Ayushi from Maharashtra beat Bebina from Manipur, and Anandi from Bihar got the better of Priya from Odisha. Under the 52 kg category, Ishita from Rajasthan defeated Jasnoor from Punjab, Khushi from Delhi outperformed Raj Laxmi from Bihar, Javeriya from Maharashtra beat Riya from Madhya Pradesh, and Heisnam from Manipur registered a win over Deepika from Tamil Nadu. In the 56 kg weight category, Lakshyata from Odisha defeated Sakshi from Vidya Bharti, Arshdeep from Punjab outclassed Poulami from West Bengal, and Bhumika from Delhi prevailed over Supriya from Jharkhand. In the 60 kg category, Kunal from Chandigarh secured a win against Mori Shriben from Gujarat, while in the 65 kg category, Rutba Shabir from Jammu & Kashmir delivered a remarkable performance to defeat Khrishtina from Punjab. In the 70 kg category, Riya from Rajasthan outplayed Mannat from the DAV College Managing Committee, and Anandi from Gujarat prevailed over Sneha from Madhya Pradesh.
