JKPSC Medical Officer exams 2026: SKIMS releases preparatory book for aspirants
Srinagar, Jan 31: With the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) set to conduct the Medical Officer Examinations 2026 shortly, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura and SKIMS Medical College Bemina have played a key role in preparing and releasing a dedicated guidebook for students appearing in the examination.
The book, aimed at helping medical graduates prepare effectively for the JKPSC Medical Officer exams, has been authored by Ashfaq ul Hassan along with Dr Irshad and Dr Muneeb. The publication is designed to familiarise aspirants with the examination pattern and the type of questions typically asked by the JKPSC.
The book was inaugurated a few weeks ago at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo. It was later formally inaugurated at SKIMS by Director Ashraf Ganie, along with Prof Fazal, Principal, SKIMS Medical College, Bemina.
On the occasion, they appreciated the efforts of the SKIMS faculty for extending academic support across various spheres of medical education and strengthening exam-oriented learning for young doctors.
Dr Ashfaq ul Hassan, a well-recognised international medical author, has made notable academic contributions at the state, national and international levels. Expressing hope about the usefulness of the publication, he said the book would help JKPSC aspirants by giving them a clear understanding of the syllabus and insight into what is expected in the Medical Officer examinations.
The initiative has been welcomed by aspirants, who view the book as a timely academic resource ahead of the upcoming JKPSC Medical Officer recruitment process.
