JKPICCA elects office bearers
Srinagar, Nov 9: The Fruits & Vegetables Processing & Integrated Cold Chain Association (JKPICCA) conducted its elections for key leadership positions on November 9, 2024, at the Directorate of Horticulture, Raj Bagh, Srinagar.
The association, which represents Controlled Atmosphere (CA) Storage Units across Jammu & Kashmir with a combined capacity of 5,00,000 MT across 86 units, elected new office bearers for the positions of President, Vice President, and General Secretary cum Treasurer.
Bashir Ahmad Naik was elected as President, Arif Mir as Vice President, and Malik Ishfaq as General Secretary cum Treasurer. The new leadership team has committed to advocating for industry needs and fostering growth in the cold storage and fruit processing sectors.
During the handover, outgoing President Majid Aslam Wafai congratulated the new office bearers and expressed confidence in their ability to advance JKPICCA's mission. The association serves as a crucial link between various stakeholders in the cold storage and fruit processing sectors.
The election process was overseen by a distinguished Election Commission comprising Irshad Ahmad, Ashaq Hussain Shangloo, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, and Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh. Notable observers present included Faiz Bakshi, Secretary General of KCCI; Syed Shabbir, General Manager of DIC Pulwama; and Mukhtar Ahmad, President of the Industrial Association Lassipora, ensuring a transparent and fair electoral process.
