JKMEGA seeks mechanical engineering reforms in J&K
Srinagar, Oct 25: A delegation from the Jammu & Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) met with the Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana.
The delegation led by JKMEGA President Er Firdous Ahad Bhat, extended their congratulations to the Minister on his recent election, expressing full support for his vision to enhance and sustain the engineering sector across Jammu & Kashmir.
Other members who attended included Organizing Secretary Er Shuja Hussain Qureshi, Coordinator Er Fayaz Ahmad Ganai, and Guidance Council Members Er Shahid Lateef Mir and Er Jahan Ara.
During the meeting, JKMEGA highlighted an urgent need to expand the mechanical cadre within the Jal Shakti department to improve project delivery and operational efficiency across the Union Territory.
They also advocated for the creation of a Chief Engineer (Hydraulic) Mechanical position.
Minister assured the delegation that these structural enhancements would be given serious consideration, recognising that a strengthened mechanical engineering presence could vastly benefit public service outcomes in Jammu & Kashmir.
