JKMEGA holds general council meeting in Jammu
Jammu, Feb 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) convened a General Council meeting for its Jammu province members at the Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu.
According to a press release issued by JKMEGA, the meeting witnessed an overwhelming participation of Mechanical Engineers from across Jammu province. Prominent attendees included Er Firdous Ahad Bhat (President, JKMEGA), Er Gagan Jyoti (Chief Engineer, M&HED), and Er Sunil Gandotra (Superintending Engineer, Urban Circle, Jal Shakti Department, Jammu), along with Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Junior Engineers from R&B (PWD), Jal Shakti, and other departments of Jammu Province.
During the session, members deliberated on crucial issues concerning the Mechanical Engineering fraternity. They underscored the need for optimal utilization of Mechanical Engineering expertise across various departments, particularly in R&B, Jal Shakti, and H&UDD, to enhance public service efficiency. The forum reiterated its longstanding demand for the creation of a dedicated Mechanical Division within R&B in Jammu province and the expansion of the Mechanical Wing in the Jal Shakti Department, emphasising that these measures are essential for public welfare and effective service delivery.
Additionally, the members resolved to intensify the JKMEGA membership drive and actively pursue initiatives aimed at strengthening the Mechanical Engineering fraternity and addressing professional concerns. JKMEGA reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the rights and recognition of Mechanical Engineers across Jammu & Kashmir, urging the administration to address the fraternity’s long-pending demands.
