JKEEGA demands swift resolution of HR issues
Srinagar, Nov 29: The J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) has expressed frustration over the prolonged neglect of basic HR issues faced by power engineers, which they believe successive governments have failed to address.
At an emergency joint Executive Council meeting, chaired by JKEEGA President Pirzada Hidayatullah and General Secretary Sachin Tickoo, members from both Jammu and Kashmir regions deliberated on the pressing concerns. In a joint statement, the leaders emphasized that crucial matters such as regularization of engineers, assured career progression, issuance of promotion and posting orders, and charge allowances for in-charge promotions have faced years-long delays.
They pointed out that the administrative department of the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD) has yet to implement a 2019 SAC order mandating the regularization of all power engineers within two months, which remains unfulfilled.
The association also criticized the lack of action on issues like reinstating suspended engineers, establishing an enforcement wing, and ensuring salary disbursement through the Pay-Sys system, despite significant reforms in the power sector driven by JKPDD engineers.
To address these persistent challenges, the JKEEGA Emergency Joint Executive Council has called for a meeting of its apex Guidance Councils on December 4, 2024, in both Jammu and Kashmir to decide the future course of action.
