JKEEGA demands action on stalled promotions, regularisation
Srinagar, May 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Engineers and Ex-Gazetted Employee Association (JKEEGA) delegation met Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today, pressing for immediate resolution of pending regularisation orders and promotional bottlenecks affecting the engineering cadre.
Led by JKEEGA President Pirzada Hidayatullah, the delegation highlighted that all technical requirements for the Memorandum of Regularisation have been completed and sought urgent government intervention for its issuance.
The engineering body also requested immediate convening of the Establishment cum Selection Committee to address promotions from Superintending Engineer (SE) to Chief Engineer (CE) level, citing substantial vacancies at senior positions.
In a significant concern raised during the meeting, JKEEGA objected to what it termed "gross violation of administrative powers" whereby 25 posts at Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) and Assistant Engineer (AE) levels have been allocated to the J&K State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) for promotions without clear rationale or source identification.
"We have requested the Chief Secretary to keep the order in abeyance until clarity is established regarding the source of posts allocated to PDC," said a delegation member.
Responding to the concerns, Chief Secretary Dulloo assured the delegation that the government is taking all possible measures to expedite the regularisation process. He immediately processed the representation and issued directions to concerned departments for necessary action.
The JKEEGA delegation included prominent engineers Er Shurjeel Gani Lala, Er Dalbir Singh, Er Javaid Dar, Er Nisar Lone, Er Ajaz Jan, Er Farhan Manzoor, and Er Muddassir Nabi.
