Launched on September 15, the programmes were held in Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kathua, Poonch and Ramban. The six-day, 30-hour training modules combined classroom sessions, field visits and expert interactions to enhance managerial, financial and strategic capabilities of entrepreneurs.

The curriculum, designed by subject experts, covered business planning, marketing strategies, digital tools, financial literacy, compliance, innovation and leadership. Participants also took part in mentorship sessions, case studies and workshops aimed at providing practical exposure. Field visits to successful business ventures were organised, while officials from District Industries Centres and the Labour and Employment Department shared sector-specific insights.

Speaking at the valedictory session in Kathua, JKEDI Joint Director Chand Kishor Sharma praised the participants and called the initiative a vital step in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat. He urged trainees to use their new skills to scale up operations and contribute to the local economy. “JKEDI will continue to work with all stakeholders to expand such programmes, ensuring that entrepreneurs from every sector have access to the resources they need to thrive,” he said.
