Srinagar, Nov 21: The Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF), led by its Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani, has expressed deep concern over the recent Himachal Pradesh incident involving members of the Kashmiri business fraternity. The Forum strongly condemned the act, terming it unfortunate, unacceptable, and a matter requiring urgent national attention.

Wani stated that the safety of Kashmiri students, traders, workers, professionals and all citizens living outside J&K must remain a top priority for the Government of India. He added that safeguarding every citizen—regardless of region or religion—is a constitutional duty and fundamental responsibility of the nation.

JKCSF appealed to all political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir to go beyond issuing casual or cosmetic statements and jointly approach the Prime Minister and Home Minister to effectively raise the matter. The Forum stressed that this sensitive issue must not be politicised but addressed with seriousness and unity.

In a significant suggestion, Wani proposed that leaders of all political parties meet the Chief Minister and form an All-Party Delegation. This delegation—comprising political leaders, business representatives, student leaders and civil society members—should jointly meet the PM and HM to seek concrete measures for securing the safety of Kashmiris across the country.
