JKCSF strongly condemns Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2025, terms it “unconstitutional”
Srinagar, Apr 02: Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) Chairman, Abdul Qayoom Wani today strongly condemned and outrightly opposed the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025. He termed the bill as “unconstitutional” and an attack on the sentiments of the Muslim community in India.
The bill violates fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of India, particularly Article 14, Article 25, Article 26 and Article 29, Wani in a statement said.
He said this bill is nothing less than an invasion of Muslim Personal Law and an attempt to interfere with the religious and cultural autonomy of the community.
JKCSF stands firmly against any bill which will hurt sentiments of any religion and violates the guarantee of freedom of religion provided by constitution of India, he added.
Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) called upon all peace loving citizens of India who believe the constitution, secularism, democracy, unity and diversity, and appealed them to raise their voices and oppose this “unjust legislation” by peaceful ways and means.
