JKCEGA expresses gratitude for long-awaited engineer placements

Jammu, Jul 31: The J&K Civil Engineering Graduates Association (JKCEGA) has expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, and Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary for issuing the long-pending placement orders of engineers at the levels of Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer.

Terming the decision timely and significant, JKCEGA said the move fills critical vacancies that had long impeded departmental efficiency.

The association noted that the promotions would help ensure smoother continuity in planning, execution, and supervision of key infrastructure and public service projects across the Union Territory. It added that the decision would go a long way in reducing project delays and strengthening the department’s delivery mechanisms on the ground.

JKCEGA President Er. Farooq Ahmad Ganie reaffirmed the association’s full support for the government’s development vision and commitment to a modern, accountable, and efficiently managed public works infrastructure. He assured the administration of JKCEGA’s cooperation in ensuring that developmental policies are translated into meaningful and measurable outcomes.

Meanwhile, the Civil-Mechanical Coordination Committee of JKCEGA and the J&K Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) also welcomed the decision and urged the administration to now focus on filling existing vacancies at the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) and Assistant Engineer (AE) levels in both Civil and Mechanical wings. The committee also stressed the importance of promptly posting all recently promoted officers to avoid disruption in departmental functioning and service delivery.
