JKCCC hosts farewell for 2 retiring CEs
Srinagar, Jul 1: The Jammu & Kashmir Contractors Coordination Committee (JKCCC) Tuesday organised a grand farewell ceremony to honour Chief Engineer Public Works (R&B) Department Tanvir Mir and Sajad Naqeeb Chief Engineer of Central Kashmir.
Both the officers attained superannuation on June 30 this year.
As per the handout issued here, the event was held at the Banquet Hall Srinagar, where a large gathering of senior engineers, contractors, department officials and well-wishers came together to celebrate the immense contributions of the two retiring officers to the infrastructure and development of Jammu & Kashmir.
"Engineer-in-Chief Tanvir Mir, widely respected for her visionary leadership and commitment to quality in public works, leaves behind a legacy of innovation and administrative excellence," it reads.
It reads that Chief Engineer Sajad Naqeeb equally admired for his hands-on approach and accessibility, earned widespread respect among contractors and officials alike for his integrity and people-centric leadership.
"Both officers were honoured with traditional Kashmiri shawls and heartfelt tributes from members of the engineering and contractor community," the handout reads.
Speakers shared their experiences working with the two, praising their humility, professionalism, and the lasting impact they have had on J&K’s development landscape.
Speaking on the occasion, JKCCC Chairman Ghulam Jeelani Purza said that JKCCC was bidding farewell to two senior officers, but to two stalwarts of their engineering fraternity.
"Engineer-in-Chief Tanvir Mir and Chief Engineer Central Kashmir Sajad Naqeeb Sahab have served with unmatched dedication. Their absence will be deeply felt," he said.
He said their honesty and commitment to public service have inspired many.
"They helped build not just physical bridges, but also fostered unity and trust within our communities. We are proud to have worked with them and pray for their continued health, peace, and happiness in this new chapter of life," he said.
Chairman Purza also emphasized that the JKCCC, representing thousands of contractors across Jammu & Kashmir, deeply values the professionalism and cooperation consistently extended by both officers throughout their careers.
