JKCA announces senior men's ODI squad for Dev Bhoomi Gold Cup Cricket tournament
Srinagar, May 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) on Saturday announced the senior men’s ODI squad for the upcoming Dev Bhoomi Gold Cup Cricket Tournament, scheduled to be held from May 31.
As per the officials at JKCA, the tournament is played in a one-day format and is organised by the Dev Bhoomi Gold Cup Cricket Association Society, affiliated with the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand, and features 16 participating teams.
According to an official at JKCA, the 15-member squad was selected following recommendations of the Senior Men’s Selection Committee and will be led by Shubham Pundir, with Kanhaiya Wadhawan named as the wicketkeeper.
The squad includes Qamran Iqbal, Qazi Junaid, Yawer Hassan, Shubham Pundir (Captain), Kanhaiya Wadhawan (WK), Lone Nasir Muzaffar, Auqib Nabi, Sunil Kumar, Abid Mushtaq, Sahil Lotra, Musaif Aijaz, Kawalpreet Singh, Arya Thakur, Vanshaj Sharma and Praful Dhar.
Among the support staff in the team are coach Ajay Sharma, manager Rajesh Khanna Dhar, Sunny Kumar as trainer, and Chirag Pandya as physiotherapist.
JKCA has been placed in Group 4, alongside Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, and Goa.
As per the details available about the Group Stage Fixtures, on May 31 2025, it will be JKCA vs Goa – Venue 2, June 1 will be JKCA vs Himachal Pradesh – Venue 2; and on June 3, it will be JKCA vs Kerala – Venue 1.
