JKBOSE to conduct Board exams for 2.47 lakh students from November
Srinagar, Oct 8: Around 2.47 lakh students are set to appear in the upcoming annual regular examinations for Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th to be conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) this year.
The Board has already issued the date sheet for Class 10th, while the schedules for Class 11th and 12th were announced on Wednesday. All students have been granted 15 percent relaxation in the syllabus in view of academic disruptions during the session.
Official figures reveal that about 95,000 students from the Kashmir division and winter zone areas of Jammu, including Kargil, will appear in Class 10th exams. Nearly 81,000 students have registered for Class 11th, and 71,000 for Class 12th.
According to the JKBOSE notification, Class 12th examinations will commence from November 8, followed by Class 11th exams from November 19. Both examinations are expected to conclude by the second week of December.
The 15 percent syllabus relaxation has been extended, considering multiple disruptions, including the prolonged summer heat wave, and recent flood-like conditions that led to extended school closures.
“Students are urged to prepare seriously. The Board is committed to ensuring fair and transparent conduct of examinations,” the document stated.
JKBOSE has directed invigilators to uphold professionalism and urged district administrations, police, and the School Education Department to ensure smooth conduct of exams. Students and parents have been advised to verify official date sheets only on the JKBOSE website — www.jkbose.nic.in
